The Bishop Auckland Town Team will host it’s first ever Vintage & Classic Car Show on Sunday 15th July.
There will be around 40 vintage & classic cars on display supplied by The Northern Bygones Society. The society was set up in 2011 and organises various clubs meeting and classic car shows around the region.
In addition, thanks to funding from County Councillor Zair’s Area Action Partnership (AAP) Neighbourhood Budget, the Big Brass Bus will be in attendance providing some live music from the Northern Monkey Brass Band.
Throughout this July, various locations around County Durham will host some of the best street bands from across the world as part of this year’s BRASS festival and the ‘Big Brass Bus’ will be stopping off at Bishop Auckland as part of the town team’s car show.
Clive Auld, Events sub-group chairman said: “Over the last 6 years, the town team volunteers have organised many different types of events in the town centre. We were approached by Paul Jackson from the Northern Bygones Society offering to help us organise a classic car show for us. It’s also great that we will have the ‘Big Brass Bus’ as part of the day which will bring some added music and atmosphere.”
The Free event takes place in Bishop Auckland Market Place on Sunday 15th July from 10am onwards.
