As part of the drive towards a cleaner UK, the EV Roadshow will hit UK roads and cities this November, as an Official event forming part of the BEIS Green GB Week, scheduled for early 2020.
This year, the roadshow will engage with fleet, transport and business professionals, as well as consumers, in 5 UK cities… all within the 5 days between 4th and 8th November.
Day 1 (Monday 4th November) sees the launch leg of the EV Roadshow kick-off in the North East, here in Bishop Auckland.
Supported by Durham County Council, GREENFLEET Events are delighted to be taking ULEV technology to the wonderful surroundings of Bishop Auckland for the very first time and will be in the historic Market Place.
This FREE to attend event is open to north east organisations looking to find out more about how running EVs across the region will be feasible, thanks to this innovative new scheme. Registration is required to attend the Business/Fleet Seminars.
Durham County Council has been awarded £250,000 funding by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), in partnership with Innovate UK, for an exciting new project to increase the take up of electric vehicles in rural locations.
The SOSCI Project will support local communities to install electric vehicle charge points in areas where off-street parking isn’t generally available.
Staged as part of the EV Roadshow, part of the UK government’s Green GB Week campaign, the seminars will feature keynotes from Durham County Council, the north east local energy hub, SOSCI partners, and more.
Each of the 5 events will feature a large display of the very latest in ULEV technology, including vehicles and charging solutions, and coupled with a giant TV screen.
A large display of ultra-low emission vehicles, from the likes of BMW, Tesla, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Smart, Toyota, Renault, Nissan, Lexus, Kia, Volvo, Mitsubishi and Hyundai, to name but a few, will be the focal point of the Roadshow.
Following the proceedings will be the opportunity to experience the vehicles that will soon become an everyday sighting on the roads across the region, first-hand.
From 10am till 4pm on Monday 4th November, Bishop Auckland Market Place will play host to the EV Roadshow. A showcase of the very latest ultra-low emission cars, vans and even electric push-bikes, with test drive opportunities available too.
If you would like to experience the vehicles, first-hand, then the organisers will need to do a DVLA driver’s licence check. Simply ‘Register’ then select ‘Consumer’ and the organisers can send you details of how you can do this, beforehand, to save you time on the day.
Once registered you will receive further details by email and then bring your Photo-card licence and Check Code with you on the day. Full DVLA checks will also be in operation on the day.
Also as part of the EV Roadshow on Monday 4th November why not try out an electric bicycle, courtesy of Inspiral Cycles
