Bishop Auckland Town Centre was once again turned into a giant advent calendar during December.
A total of 24 shops and businesses all took part offering space in their windows for 24 schools, community groups and organisations to create an advent display.
As this year’s theme was ‘Christmas Stories from around the World’ each day the window was opened by a special guest from around the world including Mexico, Denmark, Greece, Syria, Iraq, Italy and France.
In attendance there were several trained story tellers who told the story relevant to each window display.
The Bishop Auckland Town Team would like to thank David & Pam Pott, the storytellers, Cllr Tanya Tucker, Keith Taylor and not forgetting Santa Claus!

The Great Advent Windows Christmas Stories & Carols Walk
The final day of Bishop Auckland Advent Windows 2018 saw a walk starting at HairHaus Hair & Beauty visiting all 24 shops and businesses involved in this year’s event.
The stories were told and songs were sang along the way before we finished at the final window at Forces Support Bishop Auckland inside the Newgate Shopping Centre.
David Pott has done a report to summarise this year’s event and you can read it here 2018 report .
